Black Fish started in a sweaty practice space. We all loved Bochi the Rock, and we had a simple idea: start our own band. A few late nights, a bunch of riffs, and a lot of faith brought us together. Now there are four friends making loud, honest music. We ride the loud parts and listen in the quiet parts.

After about two years and three stages, people left and people joined. In the end, it was just me and the lead guitarist—the two who started Black Fish. We played a lot of famous songs on big stages: BEYOND, Oasis’ Don’t Look Back in Anger, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and more. Then we decided to write our own music. Our first original song, the one that kicked off Black Fish, is called “Summer Doldrums.”

The name Summer Doldrums came from the summer that started the band and the moment it began. After that, two more people joined: our drummer and a new guitarist. We kept growing, and the band started to feel like something real.

We’ve played our song for the whole school twice, and we also performed at a beer event in a shopping mall. Those moments felt big to us—the kind of memories you carry forever. Standing on those stages, seeing people sing along or clap at the end, reminded us why we started Black Fish in the first place: to share raw energy, honest sounds, and a moment you can remember long after the lights go down.

After our last performance, we started our next song, but then the other three band members graduated from our school. The band paused for a while as everyone moved on to new things. Even so, the legend of Black Fish didn’t end. We kept the dream alive in our hearts and in our plan to come back. Each summer, when the old members return for a visit, the band would pick up again, just like it began: with one idea, some friends, and a desire to play loud, honest music together. Until then, we held on to the memories of our first shows, the riffs that sparked the whole thing, and the promise that the music would wait for us.
